Sri Dalada Maligawa


 Sri Dalada Maligawa is Buddhist temple. The load Buddha’s sacred tooth relic is in this temple. So this temple is very important and sacred to the Buddhist people.



Monks of the two chapters of Malwatte and Asgiriya conduct daily worship in the inner chamber of the temple.






 Sri Dalada Maligawa is in Kandy. Kandy is a beautiful place in Sri Lanka.




For the homage for the tooth relic every year Sri Dalada Maligawa organize the Dalada perahera (Kandy Perahera). This is most colorful and grand festival .it is happening July or August month. it has become a unique symbol of Sri Lanka.


Sigiriya


Sigiriya is situated in Mathale district. And it is in cultural triangle of Sri Lanka. It is a ancient fortress. And it is a natural rock. This rock surround with beautiful gardens , reservoirs, and other structures. 





 Sigiriya is very popular for  its ancient paintings.it reminds the Ajantha   caves in India.





 This kingdom made by King Kashyapa in 5th century. After the king's death, it was used as a Buddhist monastery.



 The mirror wall is one of great creation .it is a wall ,and it is well polished and it can reflect like mirrors.
It made because king could see himself whilst he walked alongside it.
There are water gardens, boulder gardens and terraced gardens surround the rock.









Polonnaruwa


Polonnaruwa is the 2nd kingdom of Sri Lanka. After the defeated the Chola invaders  the King Vijayabahu 1 reunion the country and made Polonnaruwa as the capital of Sri Lanka.



But his grandson Parakramabahu 1 is the great king of the kingdom. Because his reign is the Golden Age of Polonnaruwa .”  no drop of water falling from the heavens was to be wasted” he works with this .so he made Parakrama Samudraya for collect water In rainy seasons and use it in hot seasons for cultivation. And he can develop the irrigation system is better than  Anuradhapura.



Polonnaruwa had too many statues ,temples and other creations for Buddha. And there are  Gal Viharaya,Watadagaya,Lankathilaka Viharaya and much more.




Dambulla Cave Temple

Dambulla is situated in central of Sri Lanka and It is 148 km far from current capital of Colombo.it is a rock that 160 m tall and it is in plain area. There 5 caves in this rock . There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area.


These caves have 153 Buddha statues ,3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of God and Goddess.There are about 2100 square meters of murals in these caves. There are people lived before the Buddhist came. And for the evidence they can find the  Skeleton about 2700 years old in this area.



 This is a magnificent cave temple of all south Asia.These caves made from naturally and all the five caves in under a vast rock. Further there are a special creation for the manage the water, because in the rainy days the water can came to the inside  of the caves.

 And there is a another creation for the collect water to a special tank, and the water supply is coming through the rock and the water collection will never empty

This place was made by king Valagamba for his own safety. For the thankful gift he made  this into a Temple.
After that king Nissankamalla  gilded the caves and added about 70 Buddha statues.
