Anuradhapura was a ancient capital city in Sri Lanka.It is 205 km far from current capital of colombo. Anuradhapura based on Malwathu oya and It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited city and it is a world heritage of Sri Lanka.
From the 4th century Anuradhapura become the 1st kingdom of Sri Lanka and from the 11th century it become the most stable and durable city in south asia. according to historical records there are evidence since 5th century.
In these days Anuradhapura is a most sacred to the Buddhist world because it has the Sri maha Bodhi , Ruwanweli seya and many more sacred things in here. And the city is covering over 40 square kilometers.
The technology is in very higher position in that days. There are agriculture, pottery are a few of them. The city was surrounded by the futile land .And it it is the best benefit to the cultivation.
For the defense of the city there was a huge jungle surround the area. It was a natural defense system for them.
After the Buddhism came there was a huge awakening in this country. After that most kings do the royalty with the Buddhism.
